Homeschooling Teens FAQ
The laws for homeschooling your teenager are the same for any students between the ages of 5 and 17; your student must be in compliance with the compulsory attendance code or have filed for a religious exemption.
For most parents, that means you must file your annual notice of intent at the beginning of the school year and submit your annual testing or evaluation results at the end of the school year. Our webpages on the Virginia home instruction statute go into more detail on these requirements.
For more information, visit our Homeschooling Teens page with a host of information and links to other areas that are of interest to parents who are homeschooling teens.
